Local chapter affiliation in Cal-HOSA requires each chapter adviser to complete the following online survey.
To affiliate as a Cal-HOSA chapter, secondary schools must have a Career Technical Education (CTE) Health Science and Medical Technology (HSMT) pathway or a sequence of Health Science and Medical Technology courses or offer skill specific courses such as courses offered through a Regional Occupation Center or Program.
Health Science and Medical Technology courses should meet the CTE course requirements as provided in the definition below:
To affiliate as a Cal-HOSA chapter you must have a/an:
Private schools must provide documentation of CTE content in a sequence of courses aligned with the California Department of Education CTE Model Curriculum Standards within the designated CTE pathway and leadership skills embedded within the courses. The instructor/advisor must have a CTE credential or documentation of industry experience within the designated health science pathway.
Middle School chapters must be a feeder program to a high school with a CTE HSMT sequence of courses/pathway as described above.
Postsecondary/Collegiate must have students in a health science program or major and an involved advisor.
Student members must be currently enrolled in a CTE option as described above. A single online CTE course does not qualify a student as eligible for Cal-HOSA membership.

All continuing chapters must have a zero balance to affiliate. All financial obligations must be cleared prior to affiliation.
